Community wellness is considered holistic, we focus on those issues that are emergent within community. Journeys towards wellness are varied and as collaborators we assist in taking the appropriate next step towards improving wellness for community. It extends beyond physical health and incorporates many different contexts of the lived experience that should work in harmony. (CWC Terms of Reference, 2023)
Building on what already exists, the CWC developed and regularly distributes a Brandon Food Calendar, and works to support funding applications that can be made available in community to support food desert elimination.

This is an ongoing discussion that has resulted in 2024 & 2025 pilot projects led by the City of Brandon and CWC Collaborators (shared responsibility). With much learned through pilot projects, we are pleased to share that the City of Brandon is working toward a new permanent washroom structure in downtown Brandon, designed with safety and dignity for all top-priority.
Working Team Lead: Wanda Brine
Many collaborative groups working in Brandon, Manitoba have been dedicated to feeding their neighbours for many years including Helping Hands Food Kitchen, Samaritan House Ministries, Salvation Army, Love in the City Ministries, 7th Street Health Access Centre, Men's Resource Centre, and Brandon Bear Clan, and others. The CWC is grateful to bring this calendar together.
Water donations are welcome during the summer months. Several Collaborators are happy to receive bottled water that can be shared with community! Please contact any of the collaborators listed above or feel welcome to contact CWC Program Assistant to receive a list of locations/organizations where water and other donations are accepted!
CWC promotes shared responsibility for safe and dignified washroom access 24/7 by encouraging Collaborators to engage in clean up and maintenance of public washrooms facilities as safe to do so.
